The LG Arena is sure to hit the mark upon release as it uses a whole new interface designed by LG to offer an unparalleled experience for the user. The new "s" class interface is designed to be super-quick, easy to use and very very smooth in motion thanks to integrated hardware acceleration.
It can display the menu in either 3D or video real format and looks absolutely stunning on the 3" display. The display offers a 800 x 480 pixels which give exceptional clarity and make web browsing and video playback a lot more pleasurable. The displayed image automatically adjusts between wide and tall display modes as you turn the handset which makes using the Arena as a SatNav device a viable option as GoogleMaps come pre-loaded with it. There is also touch-feedback through the display so you can "feel" what's going on.
Memory capabilities are quite astonishing with the LG arena as it has 8Gb of embedded memory which can be upgraded via microSD cards by a further 32Gb - Thus giving the potential of a truly whopping 40Gb - Awesome ! Obviously it supports all kinds of video and file formats and makes a superb video player as well as gaming device. As well as the usual MP3 player, it also includes an FM radio which are becoming more and more standardised of late on most higher spec handsets. It has a 3.5mm audio socket so you can use virtually any headset that takes your fancy and it has an FM transmitter too - so you can play your tracks through your car stereo - How cool is that !!
The LG Arena is one of a small number of handsets that actually ticks, or almost ticks all of the right boxes. It's a 3G phone so it can be used for video calls and has fast broadband like speeds for web browsing and data transfer and it's crucially Wi-Fi enabled too which means you any Wi-Fi hotspot is there for the taking for fast free access to the web, mail and so on.
The only slight flaw, if you can call it that is that the camera is 5 megapixels which is a slight disappointment - but at the end of the day you can't have everything and the LG Arena certainly has many strong points.
LG mobile phones have certainly come an awful long way in a very short time and the LG Arena will be available on all UK networks and as a SIM Free phone @ The Order
